Christmas brings the brightest star
coming here into this form
with this Christ spirit in us
just waiting to be born

it is universal, it is free
it is the hope of hopes
that brings out the good
that is hidden inside you and me

it is a timeless celebration that brings
us the gift of being able to see
we all wish the best for others
this light from God eternally

and still that Star brought to earth
it shines so bright
to remind us it’s here
even on the darkest night

for we are the gift under the tree
we are the Christmas star
that overcomes the shadows
and sets our heart free
